Before Good and Evil

In which Nami avoids doing her weekly drawing update with story information. Huzzah!


Universe Premise:
The obligatory angels versus demons original story don't deny it, I'm sure you have one hidden away somewhere. The two stories under this title, Strade and La Partita are not in the same universe linearly, but are related in that La Partita as a story cameos in Strade and Strade characters cameo in La Partita. /ramble

Forsaken Ground work with meru_neko, which would explain why there are drawings to back this up. Hee hee.

Strade

Story Summary: It's the year 2011 and it's time for the annual angel and demon conference (because, really, it was time to move up from the barbaric ways of fighting with swords, no matter how cool) to discuss and determine the direction which humanity takes. Rhan is apprentice to the irresponsible angel-general Sariel, and is rather sick of it (the job), him (his boss) and humanity (the source of all his troubles.) It was only an accident that he rescued an absent-minded Liese from certain doom by crossing a highway and was dragged along to have a (directionally challenged) adventure that will give him a crash course about humanity.

Strade was released as a copybon back when FG was starting, with Rhan as an adult and Liese as a teenager. It's being redone as Strade:ReRoute, where the ages are reversed and a lot of changes were done in terms of story depth.
Characters List:

• Rhan: 24 years old, ReRoute age: 14. An angel with little to no sense of humor, doesn't like work or being responsible for other people, he doesn't enjoy the company of others, though he became (grudging on his part) friends with the demon Raku. He's generally cold and rather pragmatic.
  
• Liese: 17 years old, ReRoute age: 21. A demon who has no sense of direction (and preservation) at all, is rather cheerful, trusting and optimistic. His love for fantasy novels are the bane of Rhan's existence because of his older brother Raku, who brought him tomes of it after every yearly meeting.
  
• Raku: 24 years old. A demon general and Liese's older brother. He and Rhan met one time at Italy, got themselves smashed and put into jail. They became 'friends' after. A pretty responsible man, is strict and very harsh towards inept people. He has an obsession with bunnies and puts them on everything and everyone he likes and suffers from brocon.
  
• Sariel "Barret Azrael": 35 years old. A demon general and Rhan's master, he's an easy-going old man who keeps disappearing when he's absolutely needed. Careless and irresponsible, Azrael moonlights in the human world as a writer and an editor.
  

La Partita

He's pretty rebellious and manipulative when it comes to getting what he wants, but hides it all with a smile and friendly demeanor.

  Remiel is the Guardian assigned to Claude during his coming of age ceremony by the Holy Order. Remiel was considered as the ideal Guardian, one who would serve, guide and protect his sire at any moment in time and, tailored to Claude's needs, the perfect watchguard. Quiet, introverted and calm in the face of any danger, he prefers to observe any situation before making a choice. Intellectual and smart, he easily captures the heart of most servants, but it seems that his heart is taken by another...
  
• Arash Creed

  A Guardian from the Alchemist's Guild Claude picked during his coming of age ceremony, Arash is loud, boisterous and his skills and IQ is often contended by his peers. He's quick to lose his temper, which makes him rush headlong into battle easily, but to his credit, he's pretty good at fighting. His bad timing and good luck is legendary. Now, if he was only good at something else...
  
• Primentheus "Prim"

  Claude's trusted companion rather than pet, Prim is a Fumie, a holy species. She's of the demon strain and can speak. She's rather protective of Claude and keeps his counsel, is courteous to Rem and doesn't like Arash because of his brashness. She keeps an emergency medical kit strapped on in case her master collapses.
  
• Nina Alderich
  female|human|age 14|october 13 815AV|virgo|blood type a
  The childhood friend of Claude and Rion and is of noble blood. She is naïve and gentle and often out of the loop, but she genuinely cares for all of her friends. After Claude's collapse and coma, she went to study medicine at the Holy Order in the hopes that when she finishes her term, she could become Guardian to Claude. Metaphorically marches to the beat of her own drum and fantasizes a lot.
  
• Rion Suxen

  The childhood friend of Claude and Nina. A commoner who lives, works and brought up by the sea, but had the chance to meet Claude as children and became fast friends. Among the three, he's the leader and the one who takes responsibility for them and is rather protective if a little exasperated that they're both lost in the clouds. He had promised to become Claude's guardian, but was barred from the chance and that inability (and later lost chance) makes him bitter.

  A child born in Chelonia, the winding city. Rynka is the daughter of a broke toymaker who wants to abandon the family legacy and duty. Defying her father for her grandfather's wishes, she inherits the "Millennium Key" that can operate any machine. She's a very confident and independent kid who isn't afraid of telling anyone her opinions. She's not very girly and reminders of this makes her very angry.
