Ahaha I'll just comment on the TWEWY stuff since my grasp of KH canon is extremely tenuous.
Yeah it looks like the TWEWY cast is taken from vastly different points in terms of characterisation if you're comparing it to how they are in their original canon. I don't think it's bad since I think they'd be an AU from TWEWY canon (yet canon at the same time? Gosh).
I thought Neku was probably late Week 1 or early Week 2, though it looks like he's getting suckered into something the same way he did on Week 1 Day 2 with Uzuki. But endgame + backsliding sounds more likely now that I think about it.
Sob Shiki tops all the boys yep. Her words does make me think early Week 1, though, especially because of the way she looks right now and the “I’ll be in trouble if I were made to return” right after the really peppy lines earlier makes me wonder if she's putting on an act in front of Riku the same way she did with Neku at first.
Joshua is really hard for me to place because he feels like a mix of pre-game and post-game to me. He seems genuinely worried about everything, the level of which sort of pings me as pre-game rather than post, so Sora being all CHEER UP EMO KID at him just had me dying FFFFFF. But like you said, his line to Neku sounds more like a reminder, implying post-game. While I do think there might not be as much trolling in KH3D from Joshua (because, when you get down to it, Joshua is the perfect plot device and plot mover character, and in KH3D he has less reason to troll), I think we also have to consider that Joshua looks really serious on most of the TWEWY official art. But look at how he is in game. I was kind of surprised at how much Joshua there was BUT I REALLY SHOULDN'T HAVE BEEN.
Hnghh yes I do hope we get to see more of Beat in the game itself. Beat kind of pings me as Week 3, and he does meet up with Riku and Shiki (7:33 in the background) but I'm like all HOW DID HE LOSE (TRACK OF) RHYME THIS TIME I WANT TO KNOW. For some reason I keep thinking Rhyme is in another castle a different world from the rest of the cast, though :/a
